The love song
First of all, I found this interesting because the speaker is using internal dialouge as his expression. So, the reader is reading the thoughts of this man. I think the love song is not the best title for this work. He is mainly lamenting his lack of doing things; he has not lead a very spontaneous life thus far. I think the song of regret would be a better title. Although, Prufrock is considering telling a woman he loves/ has feelings for her making it a "love song". He is indecisive over this matter, like he seems to recall being over most matters in his life. I am unsure if the speaker is literally going to see this woman or if he is just thinking through a scenario of going to see the woman. I believe the last is true; he is lamenting his indecisive and unspontaneous life, so I believe he would not be going to see the woman but is thinking about how it would happen if he did. I think the poem would be better if the end would have him literally knocking on the door of the woman. I think this would leave the reader thinking " wow, he actually is changing" this would make leave the reader wondering what happened.

Old love
I loved the poem by Yeats about love when old. I think this poem is wonderful. He simply states that love will last throughout the years, when it is true. I believe the old man in the poem is generally in love with his wife. He obviously cares about her very much. I think that he began to love her for who she is and not what she looks like and as he has became older it has stayed true. I think that the romance might be gone, but the love is still there. I think it is very easy to have love without the romance. I think this happens to many older adults. They just enjoy the company and memories they have with the person they decided to share their lives with.

Goblins Goblins Everywhere!
I liked reading the poem "Goblin Market." I think it can represent life even today. I think the goblins are men that are only trying to have sex with virgins or just to score with a girl they have't been with. I think many guys today are like this. They want to be the "first one" and then they are done with the girl. They then ignore the girl and call her a names like "slut". But, why don't they call themselves this, too? I think girls have to stick together, like Laura and Lizzie (not as close as them because I found their kissing very strange almost like they were lover). I do believe it is important for girls to band together to stop sleezy goblin-like guys!

Loving Elizabeth's Sonnets!!!!
I have just read a sonnet by Elizabeth Browning. I found it rather sad. The women of the poem seems to want the pronounced affection of a man, but he seems to think to say "I love you" is crazy "a cuckoo song, as thou dost treat it". The writer wants the man to say he loves her not just show her love. I have read some of the other sonnets by Elizabeth Browning. She was a big romantic. Most of her sonnets in the Sonnets from the Portugese seem to be about love. I have to admit, I am a romatic at heart and I found her sonnets very refreshing!

FRANKENSTEIN
So, I began reading Frankenstein last week. It was suprisingly an interesting read. I am a science fiction lover at heart. Sure, I knew Frankenstein began this genre but, I never thought the book would be that interesting. I really like the way it is wrote. It begins in letters, which remind me of the "Dear America" books I loved as a child. It is then the account of Victor's life told by Walton. I thought this was a very good way to write a book. It added interest because you know Walton was writing it as he remembers Victor telling it. Therefore, there could be a bit of error!

Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever......like in the movie "Sandlot".
The world today is so insane. I am sitting in the library discussing my online english class with my best friend forever...Amanda Berry. She is also in the english class with me. So, we got way off subject. We started talking about the year 2013 and flying cars. Then, we jumped to Britney Spears and her british accent. My point for this blog is, you know you have been friends forever when you can talk about nothing, well, forever. This is crazy. Have you ever played the game where you say one word and the next person has to say the first thing that word makes them think about and you go back and forth? It can last forever. Much like conversations with a good friend. That is how you know you are truely friends with a person, when you can just keep talking. Forever and ever and ever and ever......

Nicole the RoCkStAr
It has been a long first week of class. But, I must say having no classes Monday was wonderful. I was going to try to get a lot accomplished early on this week. Well to say the least, that didn't happen. Maybe next week! I have got so much homework to get done not to mention started on. On the brightside, I get my guitar today!!! I cannot wait to learn how to play. I know it will take me a while to learn, knowing me....probably a long long while to learn. But, I have a lot more important things to do and learn right know. But, for some reason I just want to learn the guitar. I need to get motivated for school.
